PIETRO CONTI REGIONAL MUSEUM OF EMIGRATION

PIETRO CONTI REGIONAL MUSEUM OF EMIGRATION

Arts/Culture/Events

The Museum is a study center, educational laboratory, and place of remembrance. It narrates the immense historical, cultural, and human heritage of the great migratory exodus that swept through Italy starting in the late 1800s. The video projections that punctuate the museum's tour take visitors on a journey back in time, centered on the migrant: farewells, encounters and clashes with the foreign country, nostalgia, daily joys and sorrows, integration into the new reality, defeats and victories, and comparisons and reflections on today's immigration. It houses documents, images, and stories from every region of Italy.
